What is SAGE?

Hands-on Field Experience

SAGE is an award-winning ~4 week geophysics education and research program for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as working professionals. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, SAGE participants have the opportunity to meet and work with industry professionals, academics, and government research scientists while using modern geophysical methods  to solve complex geologic problems.

Modern Exploration Techniques

SAGE students, faculty, teaching assistants and visiting scientists acquire, process and interpret reflection/refraction & passive seismic, magnetotelluric, time-domain electromagnetic, temperature logging, TDS, gravity and magnetic data in the Valles Caldera. Refraction seismic, electromagnetics, ground penetrating radar, and magnetic data at a near-surface site in the Caldera.
